The Argument of the Pro-Life Solution

James Slack wrote this:

"Most disturbing is that too many pro-lifers are blind to the conditions which permit abortion. My guess is that tithing, by itself, will never solve these social reasons, or else Alabama Christians would have done so a long time ago. Politically incorrect, I know, higher taxes are needed for Alabama to become a "pro-life" state: sustainable minimum wages, child day-care, schools and public universities that are state -endowed. Fact is, pro-life cost much more than pro-choice, and so the question stands: How much is a it worth to have a real "pro-life" society? Sadly pro-choice has a point: if we can't care for life born since Roe, we couldn't care for the 50 million lives lost to Roe." -James Slack, "Viewpoints," The Birmingham News

James Slack would, if he had his way, be harming the women he is trying to help, not only the women but everyone. It is not the government’s responsibility to take care of us, but only to punish evil doers and keep order. It is the Churches and individuals (especially the Christians) who are to take care of pregnant mothers and their babies, which includes more Christians adopting. James Slack is pushing for government run everything, which is clearly unconstitutional. If higher taxes are imposed, as Slack suggest, abortions would naturally go up, because mothers would have to work harder to provide for themselves and pay their taxes. I have no doubt that Mr. Slack wants to do good, he is just going about it in the wrong way. His worldview, shown in this solution is unconstitutional and more importantly unbiblical, therefore doomed to fail.
